Current Programs

I hold an extension, teaching, and research appointment, and my emphasis since 1991 has been on insect pest management in fruit and vegetable crops. My current interests include:

My extension programs cover the broad range of insect management issues faced by commercial growers of fruits and vegetables in Illinois, and I edit the Illinois Fruit and Vegetable News, our newsletter that provides up-to-date information on production and pest management topics.  In addition, I serve as Program Chair for the Illinois Specialty Crops Conference, a three-day program held annually in January.

I teach Crop Sciences 270, Introduction to Applied Entomology, a course that is cross-listed as Integrative Biology 220 and NRES 270.  (The course outline and lecture notes are available on the web.)
