SAS 9.2 Installation Directions

1. Copy license file (SAS92xxx.txt) to desktop or other easy to locate folder – you will be browsing to this file in step 4.
   
   
2. Insert DVD and begin Autoplay – this should start up the SAS Deployment Wizard 9.2 (2-4 minutes to load).  If Autoplay doesn’t start automatically, use My Computer or Explorer to access and run the Autoplay.exe file.
   
   
3. Take defaults – the setup wizard will install MS Runtime Components 7 if needed. If it notes that a reboot is needed, you’ll need to reboot according to its prompts – logon the same way and the installation program should pick up right where it left off.
   
   Watch for hidden windows that might not display at the forefront.
   
   
4. Should start the main install which will have default location for SAS and then will ask for the SAS Installation Data file – this is the license file that is names SAS92…..txt. Browse to this file and click Open.
   
   
5. Take all defaults from here to the end.
   
   
6. Don’t sit around watching this as it will take an hour or more!
   
   
7. The software sometimes doesn’t recognize that you have Java 6.7 installed (the latest version) and will install an earlier 5.x something version. When finished, you can uninstall this 5.x and make sure that 6.7 (or newer) is still functional.
