How to Install SAS

1. Put in CD1 and you should get this window:

A. Click on System Requirement Wizard

                        - Do defaults.  This will install pretty quick.

B. Click on Additional Setups – then click on SAS ODBC Driver Setup

                        - Do defaults.  This will install pretty quick. This is for Excel.

C. Click on Additional Setups – then click on SAS Viewer Setup

                        - Click next at the Welcome screen.

                        - Put in your name next to name and

   put in University of Illinois Dept. of Crop Sciences for Company

                        - Do defaults.  This will install pretty quick.

D. Click on SAS System Setup

            - SAS will run a setup window, sit for a minute, and then start up again.

                 1.  Click Next at the Welcome screen,

     2.  Select Custom at "Select Custom Type" window, then click next.

     3. Click Next at "Choose Destination Location" window

                 4. Click Next at "Select Data Files Folder" window, and this window will pop up:

                    -  select yes you want to create.

     5. At the next window, named “Select Temporary Files Folder”; the location should
         automatically be under c:\temp.

- If it does say c:\temp… like above, click next.  Otherwise change the location to be the
   same as the image above and then click next.

                        - You will get this window again.  Select yes so it creates that folder for you.

                 6. Click next at "Select Program Folder" window

     7. The next couple of windows are very tricky.  Pay attention.

     - When "Solutions" window pops up only leave Academic Premier Program checked, so your
         window is the same as the picture below:

- then click on Customize button.  A new window will pop up.

                        Uncheck SAS/ACCESS Interface to DB2

                        Uncheck SAS/ACCESS Interface to ORACLE

                        Uncheck SAS/ACCESS Interface to R/3

                        Uncheck SAS/ACCESS Interface to Sybase

                        Uncheck SAS/CONNECT

Uncheck SAS/GIS

                        Uncheck SAS/GRAPH Maps

                                Uncheck SAS/  Integration Technologies

                        Uncheck SAS/IntrNet

                       

Uncheck SAS/MDDB Server

                                (Uncheck SAS/OR if not much Hard-drive space)

                                (Uncheck SAS/QC if not much Hard-drive space)

                        Uncheck SAS/SECURE Windows

Uncheck SAS/SHARE

                        Uncheck SAS/Warehouse Administrator

     - Click next,

     8. Click next at the window labeled “Review Installation Choices” and it will install.

2.  Put in CD2 (Solutions Disk 1) when prompted.

3.  Put in CD3 (Solutions Disk2) when prompted.

4. Put in CD5 (SAS Shared Components) when prompted

            For "Confirm Update" Window, check "use this response for all file types"

and click Yes

5. Click Finish at the window labeled “SAS System Setup Complete”.
