- Ensminger Scholarship Fund. One $500 scholarship
available yearly for a student in Crop Sciences. Award based on academic
achievement, leadership, extracurricular activities and financial need.
Funds made available from Dr. M. E. Ensminger, Project Manager of the Dixon
Springs Agricultural Center from 1934-37, and his wife Audrey Watts Ensminger. Special
application available from the Department of Crop Sciences, AE-120
Turner Hall. Filing deadline: October 1.
- Eugene C. Hoerner Scholarships. Six $1,000
Scholarships available yearly for undergraduate students in Crop Sciences
with a preference for students who are residents of Livingston County,
IL. Award based on merit and high scholastic standards, leadership and
service. Award in memory of Eugene C. Hoerner, who managed and owned grain
elevators in Livingston County prior to his death in 1992. Special application available
from the Department of Crop Sciences, AE-120 Turner Hall. Filing deadline:
October 1.
- Robert W. Howell Memorial Scholarship. Scholarship
in memory of Professor Robert Howell, former head [1971-1982] of the Department
of Agronomy. One $500 award to an undergraduate student with junior standing
or above who was reared with a non-farm background, and is majoring in
Crop Sciences. Special application available from the Department
of Crop Sciences, AE-120 Turner Hall. Filing deadline: October 1.
- Illinois Seed Trade Association Alvin L. Lang Scholarship. One
$500 scholarship to a junior or senior with a strong academic record and
demonstrated leadership along with a commitment to professional career
in the plant sciences. Scholarship in honor of the late Dr. Lang, a 36
year faculty member in the University of Illinois Department of Agronomy. Special
application available from the Department of Crop Sciences, AE-120
Turner Hall. Filing deadline: October 1.
- Dr. Malcolm H. McVickar Award in Agronomy. At
least one $500 scholarship available yearly for one deserving student in
Crop Sciences. Award in memory of Dr. Malcolm H. McVickar, internationally
renowned agronomist. Special application available from the Department
of Crop Sciences, AE-120 Turner Hall. Filing deadline: October 1.
- Illinois Forage & Grassland Council Darrell
A. Miller Scholarship Fund. One $750 scholarship to a student enrolled
in the Department of Crop Sciences who has a demonstrated interest in
forages and grasslands. Scholarship in honor of Emeritus Professor Darrell
A. Miller, a 29 year faculty member and Teaching Coordinator for the
Department of Agronomy and the Department of Crop Sciences. Special
application available from the Department of Crop Sciences, AE-120
Turner Hall. Filing deadline: October 1.
- Daniel E. and Joan Pfister Scholarship. One
$1,000 merit-based scholarship to a student who has demonstrated leadership,
with a preference for students from Woodford, McLean or Livingston Counties,
IL. Funding made available by Daniel E. and Joan Pfister of Palos Heights,
IL. Special application available from the Department of Crop Sciences,
AE-120 Turner Hall. Filing deadline: October 1.
- A.F. Crow Undergraduate Scholarship. One $1,000
merit-based scholarship to a student who has a demonstrated interest in
corn breeding and genetics or the seed corn industry and current enrollment
as an undergraduate student in the Dept. of Crop Sciences at UIUC.
