Crop Sciences Graduate Organization Activities

The CSGO is involved in many activities throughout the year. The organization maintains a display at Agronomy Day to promote both our organization and the department. In the spring, the CSGO participate in the annual ACES Open House both with our own display as well as assisting in departmental displays. CSGO has recently undertaken a philanthropic role in the Champaign-Urbana community by donating sweet corn to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank. The food bank warehouses and distributes the sweet corn to several area organizations that provide it to families in need. Despite all these activities, we still find the time to socialize with one another outside the classroom. CSGO members gather regularly to watch university athletic events, to enjoy a group dinner, and to go on group tours and trips. CSGO members also participate in intramural sports such as coed softball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer.
